How to edit PDF text online

Why replace text inside a PDF
Small corrections are the common case: a wrong date on an invoice, a misspelled name on a certificate, an outdated address in a template, a figure that changed after the document was exported. Fixing those in the PDF takes a minute, where recreating the source file — assuming you still have it — takes far longer and risks reflowing a layout that was already approved.
About how replacement works
The selected rectangle is redacted and your new text is drawn in its place. That is deliberately literal: there is no paragraph reflow, so a replacement much longer than the original will not push the following lines down, and anything else overlapping the rectangle can be covered too. Styling is inferred from the first detected span and the background is sampled from the pixels around the selection, which works well on plain backgrounds and less well on gradients, images or ruled tables. Arabic and other right-to-left text is accepted, but shaping and exact font matching depend on the fonts available to the rendering service, so review that output closely. Uploading, detecting and previewing are free; one credit is used when you apply. Bookmarks, links, forms and signatures are not independently verified, and editing can invalidate a signature.

- Can I edit PDF text online with automatic paragraph reflow?
- No. Editing PDF text online here redacts the selected rectangle and draws replacement text over that area. It does not work like a word processor, move nearby content, or automatically reflow text across lines and pages.
- Will the replacement exactly match the original style and background?
- Not always. Initial styling is inferred from the first detected text span, the background is estimated from pixels around the selection, and multiline spacing is fixed. Complex backgrounds, mixed fonts, and content overlapping the selected rectangle may need manual adjustment or may be affected by redaction.
- How reliable is Arabic and right-to-left replacement?
- The editor accepts Arabic and right-to-left text, but shaping, glyph coverage, and exact font matching depend on the fonts available to the Linux rendering service. Review Arabic output carefully, especially when the source uses a custom font.
- When is a credit used, and are document features preserved?
- Uploading, detecting, and previewing text do not consume a credit; one credit is used when edits are applied. Preservation of bookmarks, links, forms, metadata, and signatures is not independently verified, and modifying the PDF can invalidate a digital signature.
